Some older listings use different street numbers. This visitor guide uses Scharnhorststraße 33, 10115 Berlin, the address given in the current Berlin cemetery list and heritage documentation.
Which entrance should you use?
The cemetery map shows four entrances. For the visitor address, head towards Scharnhorststraße. Our walking tour starts at the northern gate instead; select that point on the map. The northern entrance is mapped as wheelchair accessible, but this does not establish accessibility throughout the grounds.
The gates follow the seasonal opening hours. A path that appears open outside those times is not a promise that a particular gate remains accessible.
Getting here by bus, underground and tram
Bus 120 from Berlin Hauptbahnhof
One option from the main station is bus 120 to Habersaathstraße. The line also serves Bundeswehrkrankenhaus. Compare each stop with your intended gate on the map: the nearest marker is not automatically the appropriate stop for every direction of travel.
U6 and trams at Invalidenpark
The U6 calls at Schwartzkopffstraße. Trams M5, M8 and M10 serve Invalidenpark; each option requires a walk to the cemetery. West of the canal, Lydia-Rabinowitsch-Straße and Otto-Weidt-Platz are served by bus 147.

Parking near the Invalids’ Cemetery
There is no designated visitor car park at the cemetery. The immediately adjoining parking area to the south is not publicly accessible; do not use it as your driving destination. Nearby street spaces are not reserved for the cemetery, and signs determine charges and permitted parking time.
Allow extra time when travelling by car, follow the signs on the street and keep gates and access routes clear.
Berlin Hauptbahnhof underground car park
The Berlin Hauptbahnhof underground car park is a public alternative outside the cemetery. Vehicle access is via Clara-Jaschke-Straße or the B96 tunnel, with a 2-metre height limit. It is open around the clock.
Continue on foot or by bus 120 as described above. Check the tariff and signs before entering; spaces are not guaranteed. The garage’s hours do not apply to the cemetery gates.
